The Memory Dealer

Mayfest is coming! It's nearly time again for Bristol's annual celebration of contemporary theatre. And making its Bristol debut as one of this years' events is the show which I have spent the last few months working on the installation and set design for; 'The Memory Dealer', directed by the brilliant Rik Lander. The show will be running the weekend of 24th-26th May - if you're in the city, come lose yourself in the mem-head subculture that is taking over the city's underground...

The Wayfarer

I was super stoked recently to work with my good friend and brilliant performance artist China Blue Fish on her new theatre show, 'The Wayfarer'. I made a large, rustic antlered headdress to be worn by actor Danny Balla during the Wayfarer's ritual dance - here it is in action!

The Wayfarer is running all this week, 17th - Sat 22nd Dec, at Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, starting at 8pm. Go see it!

The Birthday of the Infanta

Last autumn I was invited by the lovely director Emily Gray of Trestle Theatre Company to their arts base in London to discuss my ideas and inspiration for a stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Birthday of the Infanta, after having spent three months earlier on in the year developing my take on the bittersweet fairy tale.
Watching the one-woman whirlwind that is actress Georgina Roberts in rehearsals, I could tell this was going to be an exciting show to witness. Georgina is a superb mistress of transformation, moving from her portrayal of each character to the next with such ease and imagination that makes her performance an absolute delight to behold.

Trestle Company's 'The Birthday of the Infanta' is now touring at various venues throughout London, Bath and others from the beginning of March right up until May. You can book tickets here

Last weekend I had the awesome pleasure of performing with my fellow fools and circus freaks in the amazing Invisible Circus show Carnyville. The show spans three nights and takes place at the abandoned but now reclaimed Bridewell Island, the former police and fire station serving as an ironically apt location for a show so riotous and anarchic in nature. It was a great success, with the costumed crowds lining the street outside each night buzzing with excited anticipation for the opening of the gates, ready to become completely immersed in the pandemonium. There is so much beautiful, dazzling chaos once you step inside, it really is hard to believe your eyes. The astounding number of performances and interactive sensory delights on offer ensures that no person leaves with the same experience as another, if you can find your way out that is...

Carnyville brings together so many shining individuals and the sheer volume of hard work, determination and creativity that brings the show to life is a true inspiration.
